As Office Manager I have the pleasure of being the first point of contact for parents and visitors calling into or phoning the school. My responsibilities include ensuring we are working within and meeting Ministry of Education requirements, school accounting and payroll functions and providing administrative support for staff members and secretarial services to the Board.
Although I’m from around the coast my grandparents lived in Manaia for many years and my father was born here and completed most of his schooling at Manaia School, alongside other members of his family.
As a long serving staff member it’s a privilege to be able to follow the threads of local families as they move through the school. It’s always lovely to see familiar faces and to be able to reconnect and build on relationships that have been made, as well as being able to welcome and support whānau who are new to the area and finding their feet in the community.
